Interactive navigation tool that helps customers find their way around a location quickly and easily

Uses touch or voice to provide help in a way that users enjoy. In large locations, customers want to be able to find what they’re looking for as fast as possible. If they’re shopping, they want to know which aisle to go to. In an office building, they need to know how to get to a meeting room or service desk. In a museum, they want to find specific exhibits. If they don’t know where to go, they become frustrated and angry, and are likely to leave or miss an appointment. The Wayfinder addresses this by making it easier to find where they’re going.

Get the app

Wayfinder is an interactive map that can run on any size screen. It can be touch-sensitive or voice-operated.

Users can search for specific items or locations, for example, “Where are the men’s sports shoes?” or “Where is Dr Herman’s office?” It will then display a map with a route to the location.

If Wayfinder is integrated into digital signage, it can be activated by promotional material. For example, a promotion for digital cameras may be followed by a map showing how the customer can find the camera department.

Use cases

Wayfinder is ideal for any large location such as a mall, office building, airport or store. In conjunction with the occupancy control and virtual queues apps, it is a useful way to streamline visits by telling each customer exactly where they need to go when they enter the premises. When integrated with an online shopping app, it can be used to help BOPIS customers find where they need to go to collect their items.

In retail, it can be combined with the endless aisle and store assistant to increase sales: if an item is in stock, they can go direct to the shelf and get it, but if not, they can make an online purchase and either have it shipped or collect it later. Wayfinder isn’t just telling them where an item ought to be - it’s telling them whether it’s actually there.
